Skin

Skin Biography

Skin first had success in the mid nineties; their self-titled debut album, on Parlophone records, hit the UK top ten, and had 6 top 40 singles. Including the top 20 hits Tower of strength and Money, both leading to appearances on the legendary Top of the Pops.

They tour extensively supporting bands such as The Little Angels, Whitesnake & Thunder. They also appeared at the 1994 Monsters of Rock festival, and the Gibson night of a 100 guitars at Wembley Arena.
Skin went on to make two more studio albums, titled Lucky, also on Parlophone records, and Experience Electric, on Snapper records. Their live album, Hasta La Vista Baby, also on Snapper Records, was recorded at their final concert in 1998.

After an absence of 11 years Skin reformed to play at the 2009 Download festival. Then went on to support Mr Big, Chickenfoot and for a successive year play at the 2010 Download festival. In that time they also released an acoustic album, titled Up Close & Personal, and a DVD of the reunion. They have just finished their first full studio album for 13 years, titled Breaking the Silence, which is only available from the bands official website – www.skinfreak.co.uk

The 2009 download appearance was the spark that re-lighted the fire, says lead guitarist and band songwriter Myke Gray. The reaction from the fans was amazing, and it inspired us to write and record one more studio album, we felt we owed it to the fans for all the loyalty and support they have shown us over the years. Being a member of Skin second time round is even better than the first, and we are all loving every second of it.
